Based on findings in brain development, we believes in the importance of early years of development, secure early relationships for effective learning and multiple dimensions of development in each infant and toddler.

We provide infant and toddler cares in a home-like setting alternative to home care. Infants and toddlers are cared for in a warm, secure and loving environment where responsive caregivers interact and respond to infants' cues and toddlers' reactions.

Infants' first stage of cognitive development is the sensori-motor stage which means senses and movement. Infants and toddlers learn through interaction with the physical word of matter and social world of human beings using their senses: listening, seeing, smelling, tasting and touching. They also learn very much by watching, observing and imitating. We provide physical, intellectual and social stimulation to foster such development.

Gross motor and fine motor skills development are emphasized in these programmes.

Flexibility in daily schedule and appropriate learning activities are being practised for this group. A daily record on the infant's sleeping, eating, changing of diapers, health and developmental milestones are prepared for the parents' reference. Infants and toddlers are also given time for independent play and exploration.


Our early childhood programmes recognise that children learn best in a carefully structured learning environment that integrates learning centres, teacher facilitated group time, play, exploration and discovery.

We balance intellectual learning with physical education, social and emotional development. Of course, we will always take into consideration the fun element.

We use a thematic approach for our children to learn a variety of topics related to the theme. Such approach covers the four language skills, i.e. speaking, writing, reading and listening. It involves role play, discussion, story-telling and creative writing. It provides the motivation to learn, expand on concepts and make connections to experiences. Hence building the child's self-esteem, confidence and fostering child's interest to learn.

We place strong emphasis on 'Letterland Phonics", creative writing and reading programme to help children acquire literacy in a fun and effective way.

Letterland, from United Kingdom, is a unique, phonic-based approach to teach reading, writing and spelling. Its information rich and colourful Letterland characters transform plain black letter shapes into child-friendly pictogram characters who live in an imaginary place called 'Letterland'.

By translating the full range of dry phonics facts into engaging stories, songs and actions, children are motivated to listen, to think and to learn. These stories explain letter shapes and sounds ans develop quickly into word building, reading and writing.

Letterland Phonics System uses a multisensory approach that fires up children's imagination and motivates them to us multiple intelligences. It is fun and much easier for the children to remember facts.

The teaching of Letterland is imparted to all levels (above 18 months old) in our school. Children will draw a lot of fun and imagination by role playing the Letterland characters.

FOLENS MATHS

We also teach 'Folen Mathes' programme (from U.K.) and 'New Maths' programme (from Taiwan) which emphasize on the understanding of Mathematics concepts and hands-on experiences. Both programmes enhance the development of the child's right brain.

Children will gather Science knowledge through discussion, finding and discovery with their young inquiry minds.

Above all, we believe that social and emotional development is of utter importance to a growing child as this will take him/her a long way in the future. We strive to provide related learning for the child by allowing him/her to experience from his/her daily lifestyle in the school and to provide suitable guidance for the child.
